Prior to actually entering the Community, the woman is involved
in three phases of the Vocation discernment, which takes place
over a period of about two years:
Inquiry
- This phase is her initial exploration of the call to religious
life as a Sister of Mercy.
Application - This phase intensifies the exploration of
her call to religious life, deepens her understanding of the mission
of the Sisters of Mercy and establishes a closer relationship
between the Community and herself; this phase concludes with a
welcoming ceremony.
Pre-Candidacy - This is the time between her acceptance
into the Community and her actual welcoming Ceremony
