HOMELESS

Safeguarding peoples' belief in their own dignity and worth is at the core of our ministries. Developed as a response to the rapidly growing numbers of low-income, single parent families that marked Providence, Rhode Island, during the economic upheavals of the late 1980's, McAuley Village, a
transitional housing facility; McAuley House, a soup kitchen; and McAuley Community House, a living skills assistance facility were founded by the Providence Regional Community. The aim of all three institutions is to provide for the social and educational needs of low-income, at risk, families and individuals in Providence.
We also administer and serve in other soup kitchens and shelters in several other dioceses including Fall River in Massachusetts.
