Two friends, a sister and an associate, at the Annual Associates' Picnic.

Mercy Association is a mutually enriching relationship between the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas and individuals. The purpose of the relationship is a sharing, a collaboration in the mission and spirit of Mercy, which offers a response to the Gospel call through service to those in need.

A Mercy Associate of the Regional Community of Providence, is a person who willingly enters into an agreement to share in the community life and mission of the sisters through ministry, prayer, study, retreats, celebrations, and bonds of friendship. Each associate extends the mission of Mercy in her or his own way, while maintaining an independent lifestyle.

By collaborating with others in works of mercy, we continually learn from them how to be more merciful.
